The maintenance and upkeep of continuous casting copper mold tube is crucial to ensure the smooth progress of continuous casting production and improve the quality of cast slabs. The following are some specific tips:
Daily inspection
copper mold tube appearance inspection: Regularly check the shell of the crystallizer for deformation, cracks, wear, etc. Pay special attention to the corners and welds. If there is slight deformation or wear, it can be repaired; if there is severe cracks, it must be replaced in time to prevent steel leakage accidents.
Copper tube inspection: Check whether there is scaling, scratches, corrosion and other phenomena on the inner wall of the crystallizer copper tube. Scaling will affect the cooling effect, and scratches and corrosion may cause surface quality problems of the ingot or even steel leakage. Tools such as endoscopes can be used for internal inspection. Minor damage can be polished and repaired, and severely damaged copper tubes need to be replaced in time.
Water seam inspection: Check whether the water seam is blocked or leaking. Water seam blockage will cause uneven cooling and affect the quality of the ingot; water leakage may cause serious production accidents. The condition of the water gap can be judged by observing the inlet and outlet water flow, pressure, and checking whether there are water stains around the crystallizer. If there is a blockage, it needs to be cleaned and unblocked.
Vibration device inspection: Check the operating conditions of the motor, reducer, connecting rod and other components of the vibration device to check whether there are abnormal vibrations, noise, heating and other problems. Regularly check whether the frequency and amplitude of the vibration meet the process requirements to ensure that the crystallizer vibrates smoothly and prevent defects such as vibration marks on the surface of the ingot.
Liquid level detection device inspection: Check the accuracy and stability of the liquid level detection device to ensure that it can monitor the liquid steel level in the crystallizer in real time and accurately. Regularly calibrate and maintain to prevent overflow or pouring accidents due to inaccurate liquid level detection.
Regular cleaning
Cleaning the inner wall of the copper mold tube: After each casting, the protective slag, steel slag and other materials remaining on the inner wall of the crystallizer should be cleaned in time. Special cleaning tools such as scrapers and wire brushes can be used, but care should be taken to avoid damaging the inner wall of the crystallizer. For stubborn stains, chemical cleaning methods can be used, but a suitable cleaning agent should be selected to prevent corrosion of the crystallizer material.
Cooling system cleaning: Regularly clean the cooling system of the crystallizer, including water tanks, pipes, filters, etc. Clean impurities such as scale, rust, and sand to ensure the smooth flow of cooling water and cooling effect. Chemical cleaning or high-pressure water flushing can be used. After cleaning, water quality testing should be carried out to ensure that the water quality meets the requirements.
Cleaning of protective slag accumulation: Clean the protective slag accumulated around the crystallizer in time to prevent it from mixing into the molten steel or entering between the crystallizer and the copper tube, affecting the quality of the ingot and the normal operation of the crystallizer.
Lubrication and maintenance
Lubrication of vibration parts: Lubricate each lubrication point of the crystallizer vibration device regularly according to the requirements of the equipment manufacturer. Choose the right lubricant and determine the lubrication cycle according to the working environment and frequency. Generally speaking, high-temperature resistant lubricants are required in high-temperature environments, and frequently vibrating parts need to shorten the lubrication cycle.
Maintenance of mechanical connection parts: Regularly check and tighten the various mechanical connection parts of the crystallizer, such as bolts, nuts, pins, etc., to prevent looseness from affecting the stability and accuracy of the equipment. At the same time, these parts are treated with anti-corrosion and grease to prevent rust.
Hydraulic system maintenance: If the crystallizer is hydraulically driven, the oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure of the hydraulic system should be checked regularly to ensure the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil. Replace the hydraulic oil and filter according to the prescribed cycle to prevent impurities in the hydraulic oil from damaging the hydraulic components and affecting the movement accuracy and reliability of the crystallizer.
Storage and transportation
Storage environment requirements: If the crystallizer needs to be stored for a long time, it should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated warehouse to avoid moisture and rust. The bottom should be padded with sleepers or other supports to prevent direct contact with the ground, and avoid collision with other sharp and hard objects to prevent damage.
Transport protection measures: During transportation, the crystallizer should be properly packaged and fixed to prevent collision, vibration and deformation. For large crystallizers, special transport brackets and lifting tools can be used to ensure transportation safety.
