On January 12, the 6# extra-thick slab continuous casting machine project of Longteng Special Steel’s electric furnace green technology transformation project, which was contracted by MCC Jingcheng, successfully completed the hot load test, marking the successful completion of the construction of the world’s thickest straight arc slab continuous casting machine, adding another model project to MCC Jingcheng’s EPC general contracting extra-thick slab continuous casting machine.
Longteng Special Steel’s 6# extra-thick slab continuous casting machine is the world’s thickest straight arc slab continuous casting machine. It is a turnkey project with MCC Jingcheng responsible for the overall design, supply, installation and commissioning, thermal load test run, personnel training, technical services and other processes. It is a first-class domestic and internationally leading high-end extra-thick slab continuous casting production line. The project is designed to have a casting thickness of 250mm, 360mm, 460mm, and 480mm, taking both thin and thick into account.
Adhering to the development concept of “green special steel, ecological Longteng” and “differentiated competition” of Longteng Special Steel, in order to meet the strategic requirements of the Longteng Special Steel Electric Furnace Green Technology Transformation Project to develop high-quality special steel bars and wires and 3800mm medium and thick plate products, MCC Jingcheng started with the overall design, gave full play to the advantages of multi-professional system integration, combined with the layout of the electric furnace steelmaking plant, and enabled Longteng Special Steel’s slab, square and round billet, and die casting three production lines. The slab production line contracted by MCC Jingcheng has rich products and moderate diversification, the square and round billet production line contracted by MCC Jingcheng is green, efficient and competitively differentiated, and the overall design of the die casting production line is iteratively upgraded and subdivided into high-end products, which has been highly recognized and praised by Longteng Special Steel. The successful hot test of the project will help Longteng Special Steel’s electric furnace workshop product competitiveness to a higher level, and once again demonstrated the maturity and stability of MCC Jingcheng’s ultra-thick slab continuous casting technology. MCC Jingcheng will continue to adhere to the principle of innovation, promote the transformation and upgrading of the core products of continuous casting machines, demonstrate Jingcheng’s responsibility for the goal of “one creation, two bests and five strengths”, and empower Longteng Special Steel to become bigger, stronger, more refined and more specialized with new quality productivity. It has provided Jingcheng’s wisdom and solutions for the technological upgrading of my country’s steel industry, especially in the field of ultra-large-size high-quality steel plates, and has provided a more solid foundation for the widespread use of high-quality ultra-thick steel plate products in the manufacturing of major national equipment such as wind power installation platforms and special pressure vessels.
