How to increase casting speed and increase output has always been the main focus of low-carbon continuous casting in steelmaking enterprises. The continuous casting powder developed by our company can well control the sintering temperature and viscosity by adjusting the crystallization temperature. Under high-speed conditions, it can maintain normal consumption, liquid slag layer thickness and reasonable heat transfer, so as to ensure the thickness of the slab shell coming out from the outlet of the crystallizer, and achieve the purpose of debonding in the entire continuous casting process.

The protective slag added to the molten steel surface of the mold gradually heats up and sinters and melts under the action of the heat released by the molten steel, forming a double-layer, three-layer or multi-layer slag layer structure on the molten steel surface of the mold. Since the slab moves downward at a certain pulling speed and the mold vibrates up and down, negative slipping motion occurs, creating a pressure difference that sucks molten slag into the space between the mold and the billet shell. Under the cooling of the continuous casting mold wall, a solid slag film of glass or crystal is solidified on the side of the continuous casting mold wall, and the state of liquid slag is maintained on the side of the shell. As the mold vibrates and the billet is drawn, the liquid slag and solid slag film are brought out of the lower mouth of the mold and separated from the cast billet under the impact of the secondary cooling water, thereby completing the consumption process of the mold slag. The role of mold powder from the time it is added to the time it leaves the continuous casting mold can be summarized as follows:
(1) Prevent secondary oxidation of molten steel
(2) Thermal insulation reduces heat loss of molten steel
(3) Absorb and dissolve non-metallic inclusions
(4) Lubricating between the continuous casting mold wall and the billet shell
(5) Improve and control the heat transfer between the slab and the continuous casting mold
