Recently, exciting news came from the continuous casting operation area of Anshan Chaoyang Steel. Through unremitting efforts and multi-faceted innovation and optimization, two continuous casting machines successfully broke through the bottleneck of pulling speed. Under different billet widths, the maximum pulling speeds of the three steel types of medium carbon steel, low carbon steel and peritectic steel of the continuous casting machine exceeded the design by 0.2 m/min, 0.1 m/min and 0.1 m/min respectively, setting a historical best level.
As a key link in the steelmaking production process, the continuous casting operation area shoulders the heavy responsibility of improving efficiency and optimizing quality. Since the beginning of this year, the operation area has deepened the construction of “five-type enterprises” and promoted the improvement of indicators by taking multiple measures around the goal of “extreme process efficiency”.
In terms of production organization, the operation area strengthens the coordination and cooperation of upper and lower processes, guided by the just-in-time control system, to achieve seamless connection between steelmaking, refining and ladle turnover, reduce the waiting of casting machines for molten steel or abnormal temperature, and make the production rhythm smoother. At the same time, strictly implement standardized operation procedures to improve the skills and abnormal handling capabilities of operators.
In terms of process optimization, the operation area finely adjusts the pouring speed according to different steel grades and equipment conditions, and formulates scientific plans to ensure the quality of the ingot while increasing the drawing speed. At the same time, the crystallizer system is comprehensively improved, the cooling system is optimized, the cooling efficiency is increased to 22 cubic meters/hour, and a foot roller is added to the narrow side of the crystallizer to completely solve the bulging defect of the narrow side of the high-drawing speed ingot, creating favorable conditions for speed increase.
In terms of equipment maintenance, the operation area strictly inspects and accepts the newly launched key equipment, and strengthens daily inspection and maintenance to ensure that the equipment is always in good condition, providing strong guarantee for high-drawing speed operation.
In addition, the operation area also pays attention to the continuous optimization of process parameters and the adjustment of protective slag. By optimizing the cooling method of the secondary cooling zone, the cooling of the ingot is ensured to be uniform, the steel molten cleanliness and temperature are stably controlled, and the risk of leakage and crack defects are reduced; by in-depth research on the selection and dosage control of protective slag, it is ensured that it is evenly distributed in the crystallizer.
